Brazil’s meat exports post positive results in April

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According the results achieved in the first 4 weeks of the month (15 out of a total of 20 working days), current April meat exports tend to register one of the best results ever. Probably a few records.

In the current context, pork continues to stand out. So far, shipments have increased over 60% in relation to April 2020, by the daily average. They amount to 76,112 tons.

If this average is maintained during the rest of the period (there are only 5 days left to the end of the month), pork shipments will surpass the 100,000 tons mark, an apparently unprecedented result.

Albeit not unprecedented, the perspective of reaching 142,000 tons of beef is rare.

Until now, its shipments total 106,606 tons, but if the current performance is maintained, it could reach a volume 22% higher than registered one year ago and the best result of the first four months of 2021.

However, this time, chicken meat is not lagging behind, with shipments posting all-time best daily averages (close to 20,000 tons/day), now totaling 297,498 tons.

Should this behavior be maintained in this last week of April, the volume of chicken meat exported in the month will be around 396-397,000 tons, the best result achieved since August 2018.
