RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Mercado Libre has announced that it will now accept payments with Pix. The instant payment tool became available for purchases on the marketplace on Wednesday, April 14th, and will be an alternative to payment slips.
The company says that using Pix at the checkout of transactions can speed up the delivery process and increase the platform’s fast shipping offer — when customers receives the product the next business day.
“The agility of payment also translates into an even better shopping experience, with products reaching our customers faster,” says Roberta Donato, director of marketplace at Mercado Libre.
She explains that there is also a direct benefit for sellers, who will be paid for the purchase more quickly. The fee charged to merchants for Pix is lower than the credit card fee, according to Mercado Libre.
