Last year, the Chinese Embassy reacted to deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro, who had accused the eastern country of cyber espionage through 5G technology. The Chinese representation said that the president’s son’s position was unacceptable and that he was advocating the interests of the American government.

Ernesto Araújo also said that Brazil prioritizes relations with the United States and that this stance has not changed with Donald Trump’s defeat in the election.

The Foreign Minister commented on an US senator’s request for the Brazilian government to take a position with respect to the storming of the capitol by Trump supporters.

Araújo defended the country’s efforts in relation to environmental issues and said that Brazil was invited by the United States to a new climate summit this year.

Araújo further said that Brazilian foreign policy is committed to the inclusion of the country’s industrial sector in the international market and to Brazil’s support in the fight against drug trafficking.
