Bolsonaro says Brazil will have millions of vaccines in March

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The president emphasized that Brazil is the 6th country vaccinating the most in the world.

In a chat with supporters, President Jair Bolsonaro said that Brazil will have millions more vaccines in March. According to the president, the country would only start buying the immunizers after approval from the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency.

“Some people criticize Brazil… we could only buy the vaccine after regulatory authorization, we couldn’t buy any thing that came along. So these vaccines began to be certified by the agency and we are buying them,” he said.

Bolsonaro emphasized that Brazil is the sixth country that vaccinates the most in the world and recalled that immunization in Israel is advanced.

“Israel is ahead, but how many inhabitants does the country have? There are 9 million inhabitants there, if I am not mistaken, so it is easy to say that they have immunized 30% of the population. I think we have immunized more than Israel in absolute terms. Now it is another country, right? It is a country that doesn’t have a drop of oil, no fertile land, no water, nothing. But there are people there who really devote themselves and there are some politicians different from ours here, where I include myself as well, it is a general disorder. I’m not criticizing others, it’s everyone,” he declared.

The president said that a Brazilian delegation will be dispatched to Israel next Wednesday, March 3rd, to close a deal on a nasal spray, which should be tested in Brazil. However, Bolsonaro again advocated early treatment as a way to fight Covid-19.

“This early treatment talk about ivermectin, hydroxychloroquine, whatever, it has no side effects, why not take it? It seems like the more deaths, the better for some sectors. We are the 8th economy in the world, our HDI is not as good as the first world. What leads the country to be ranked 26th in the number of deaths per 1,000 inhabitants? Something is happening here, it can only be early treatment, there is no other explanation for it. And why does the mainstream media still insist on criminalizing those who say this?” he asked.
