Brazilian Tourists Banned from Entering Argentina as of Friday

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In light of the growing number of Covid-19 infections in Brazil, Argentina has decided to ban Brazilian tourists from entering the country as of Friday, December 25th.

The ban will be effective at least until January 8th – and should the pandemic persist with worrying numbers in Brazil, the measure may be extended for a longer period.

Under the new rule, the pilot program that authorized access of foreign tourists from neighboring countries, including Brazil, through Ezeiza, San Fernando and Buquebus airports in Buenos Aires, is suspended until the beginning of January.

As of December 25th there will also be new requirements for the entry of Argentines and foreigners living in the country, who will need to submit a negative PCR test, as well as remain seven days in isolation.

In addition to closing borders with neighboring countries which were allowed to travel to Argentina since last month, flights between Argentina and European countries such as Italy, Denmark, the Netherlands, and the United Kingdom are also suspended.
