Brazilian Beef Exports Set Record in November

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilian beef exports rose 10 percent in November compared with October, mainly driven by purchases from China, setting a record for the year, the Brazilian Meat Packers Association (Abrafrigo) said on Monday, December 7th.

In November, Brazil’s beef exports totaled US$ 844.8 million revenue and 197,852 tons in volume, while the corresponding figures in November 2019 were $841.9 million and 180,214 tons.

The Chinese market accounted for 57.9 percent of Brazil’s beef exports in 2020 through November, compared with 43.2 percent for the same period in 2019.

According to Abrafrigo, Egypt, Chile and Russia are also main destinations for Brazilian beef products.

Abrafrigo estimated that in 2020, Brazil, the world’s largest beef producer and exporter, will increase exports by 10 percent and revenue by 15 percent compared with 2019.
