ANP: Average Ethanol Price at Pumps Climbs in 13 States, Falls in 11 States

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The average prices of hydrous ethanol increased in 13 states and the Federal District in the week ended on Saturday, November 14th, compared to the preceding period, according to a survey by the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP) compiled by AE-Taxas. The price of the biofuel fell in 11 states, while in Amapá and Roraima there was verification.

At stations surveyed by the ANP across Brazil, the average price of ethanol has increased 0,66 percent in the week over the preceding one, from R$3.05 to R$3.07 per liter.

In São Paulo, the main producer and consumer state and with more stations assessed, the average price of hydrous ethanol stood at R$2.93, an increase of 0.58 percent over the preceding week (R$2.913).

In Bahia, the biofuel recorded the highest percentile rise in the week, by 6.36 percent, from R$3.115 to R$3.313. The highest weekly drop, of 3.47 percent, was registered in Santa Catarina (from R$3.47 to R$3.78).

The minimum price recorded last week for ethanol at the pumps was R$2.559 per liter, in São Paulo, and the lowest average state price, of R$2.93, was also recorded in São Paulo.

The individual maximum price, of R$4.799 a liter, was registered in a station in Rio Grande do Sul. The state also recorded the highest average price, at R$4.052.

The ANP restarted the disclosure of automotive fuel prices survey on its website on October 23rd. Consequently, there is still insufficient data for monthly comparison of ethanol prices among the stations surveyed in the country.
