Bus Robbery in Rio Leaves Two Shot; One in Critical Condition

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A bus robbery in the West Zone of Rio, early on Sunday morning, November 1st, left two people injured, one of them in critical condition.

According to RioSaúde, Reginaldo Teixeira dos Santos was shot in the chest and an required emergency operation. His condition was very critical. Raphaela Cardoso da Silva, with an injury to the face, underwent exams and sutures and was discharged.

How the robbery occurred

The targeted line was 864 (Bangu-Campo Grande). According to witnesses, criminals announced the assault near Santíssimo at around 7:30 AM. The robbers collected belongings and got off the bus outside the Eterj College. Still at the bus door, one of them fired. Two people were shot.

The bus headed to the Rocha Faria Hospital, in Campo Grande, where the victims were hospitalized just before 8 AM, and the other passengers got off.
