State health authorities are still investigating whether 2,511 suspected deaths occurred due to Covid-19. By Saturday, September 26th, there were 2,430 deaths under investigation.

According to the Ministry, the lethality rate of the disease in relation to the general population stands at three percent. That is, in every 100 infected people, three may die due to the complications of Covid-19.

A number of factors can contribute to a patient’s health condition developing into a severe case or resulting in death. The elderly and people with high blood pressure, heart and lung diseases, cancer, or diabetes are typically more susceptible and should redouble their care.

The data are provided to the Ministry of Health by the state Secretariats. Typically, the number of notifications on Saturdays and Sundays tends to be lower than during the week due to the delay in data transfer over the weekend.
