Covid-19: Brazil Counts 125,500 Deaths and Four Million Cumulative Cases

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil has reached 125,521 deaths by Covid-19. In the past 24 hours, 907 deaths were recorded. The data are in the daily update released by the Ministry of Health on Friday evening, September 4th. Yesterday, the Ministry of Health’s panel reported 125,521 deaths. There are further 2,492 deaths under investigation.

According to the portfolio, since the start of the pandemic, 4,092,832 people have been infected with the coronavirus. Between Thursday and Friday, the Health Secretariats added 51,194 new people diagnosed with the disease to the statistics. On Thursday, the pandemic data system presented 4,041,638 cases.

Still according to the update, 688,393 people are under follow-up and another 3,278,918 have already recovered.

The states with the highest number of deaths were São Paulo (31,091), Rio de Janeiro (16,467), Ceará (8,555), Pernambuco (7,645), and Pará (6,228).

The lethality rate (number of deaths by the total of cases) stood at 3.1 percent. The mortality rate (number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants) reached 59.7. The incidence of covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 1947.1.

Covid-19 in the states

The states with the highest number of deaths were São Paulo (31,091), Rio de Janeiro (16,467), Ceará (8,555), Pernambuco (7,645), and Pará (6,228).

The states with the fewest deaths are Roraima (598), Acre (623), Amapá (670), Tocantins (730), and Mato Grosso do Sul (939).
