Covid-19: Brazil Counts Three Million Recovered Patients and 120,000 Deaths (August 29th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Since the start of the pandemic, Brazil has confirmed 3,846,153 positive Covid-19 cases. Of this total, 3.1 percent have died; 18.7 percent are in follow-up and 78.2 percent have recovered from the disease.

In the past 24 hours, 758 deaths and 41,350 confirmed cases were recorded.

On Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays, the daily records tend to be lower due to the challenge in feeding the databases by the municipal and state Secretariats. On Tuesdays, the figure is typically higher due to the updating of cases accumulated on weekends.

The lethality rate (number of deaths by total cases) stood at 3.1 percent. The mortality rate (number of deaths per 100,000 inhabitants) reached 57.2. The incidence of Covid-19 cases per 100,000 inhabitants stands at 1830.2.

The states with the highest number of deaths are São Paulo (29,944), Rio de Janeiro (16,016), Ceará (8,382), Pernambuco (7,547), and Pará (6,109).

The states with the fewest deaths are Roraima (587), Acre (608), Tocantins (658), Amapá (659), and Mato Grosso do Sul (840).
