The acquisition, registration and carrying of weapons will now be processed online.

Furthermore, the Federal Police will no longer require purchasers to submit documents that can be found in the institution’s system and will remove the deadline for new applications for possession and carrying of weapons, it said in a statement.

With the formalization of the decree by the Federal Police, magistrates and members of the Prosecutor’s Office can be certified by the institutions where they work as having the required psychological aptitude and technical capacity  for carrying firearms. Prison guards will now have the same privileges as other police officers.
