Novel coronavirus transmission rate in Brazil drops to 1.01 – says study
The transmission rate of Covid-19 cases in Brazil reached 1.01 on August 9th, according to a study released this week by Imperial College in the United Kingdom. The figure is dropping compared to the preceding week, but still shows that the disease is spreading.
A rate of 1.01 means that every 100 people infected with the novel coronavirus pass the disease on to another 101 people, and consequently the number of new patients continues to grow. Last week, the country’s indicator stood at 1.08 – a transmission of 108 new cases per 100.
