RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On Wednesday morning, July 22nd, President Jair Bolsonaro announced that his latest Covid-19 test had come back positive. This is the third test he has performed since July 7th, after experiencing symptoms of the disease.
Bolsonaro had already scheduled a trip to Piauí, together with Senator Ciro Nogueira, to resume his work schedule, but ultimately cancelled the appointment.
The President was confident that the test would come back negative, as he does not feel many of the symptoms of the disease and has now been infected with the virus for over 14 days, which is the period that Covid-19 typically manifests itself in the patients’ bodies.
Now, Bolsonaro will remain in isolation at the Alvorada Palace, where he has met with Ministers by videoconference.
