Brazilian Star Alcione Headlines “Vivo Rio at Home” with Live Show on Virtual Platform

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Planning the gradual restart of its activities, on August 15th, Vivo Rio will launch the project “Vivo Rio em Casa” (Vivo Rio at Home) with a concert by singer Alcione; on its main stage, it will host top Brazilian musicians, providing the audience with the respective live broadcasts through an online platform, which will feature affordable prices.

On that date, Alcione will launch her new show, “Tijolo por Tijolo” (Brick by Brick), becoming the first Brazilian tour launched online. The show is a reference to the 42nd album of the singer from Maranhão state, and celebrates her 48-year-long career.

Aiming to strengthen the cultural scene in the country, the artists participating in “Vivo Rio em Casa” will select social projects aimed at the cultural sector, allocating a percentage of the money collected from ticket sales to help entertainment professionals, who are currently unemployed in the sector. The online tickets for Alcione’s show will cost R$10 (US$2). As for the broadcasts, they will be in the hands of OnStage, a platform owned by the Eventim website.

Launched in November 2006, Vivo Rio is one of the main entertainment venues in Rio de Janeiro and is located in Parque do Flamengo, adjacent to downtown Rio. In its nearly 14 years of existence, it has hosted several successful names in Brazilian and even international music, such as Akon, Evanescence, Julio Iglesias, Megadeth, and Ringo Starr.
