RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Pacaembu Field Hospital will close down on June 30th. The news, to be announced this Tuesday, June 23rd by the city hall, represents a significant achievement in the Covid-19 pandemic in the city of São Paulo.
The number of hospitalized patients had dropped dramatically over the past month. Today, there are 33 hospitalized. On June 5th, it was three times that.
Under the management of Albert Einstein Hospital, Pacaembu was a prime example of medical care. Over three months in existence, it has enhanced the São Paulo capital’s health network with 200 beds for low and medium complexity cases of Covid-19. Of the 1,510 patients admitted so far, 1,195 were discharged from the hospital.
