RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With the decree published by Governor Wilson Witzel on Friday night, June 5th, relaxing some social isolation measures, soccer matches are free to be held in Rio de Janeiro as of Saturday, June 6th.
The matches may not have a public audience and health protocols should be followed to ensure the safety of athletes and professionals involved in the event.
With the government’s release, the Rio State Championship tournament is close to being restarted.
Also on Saturday, from 3 PM, the Football Federation of the State of Rio de Janeiro (FERJ) and the top league clubs held an Arbitration Council virtual meeting to set a return date for the competition.
