RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – José Henrique Germann, the São Paulo state Health Secretary, said the state has recorded 3,189 new cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in 24 hours, an increase of 6.2 percent. Since the onset of the pandemic, São Paulo has recorded 54,286 cases of the disease.
According to the Secretary, between Wednesday and Thursday, 197 victims of Covid-19 died, an increase of 4.8 percent. In all, 4,315 people have died from the disease in the state.
According to Germann, on Wednesday, social isolation in the capital stood at 48 percent and at 47 percent across the state.
