At 1.7ºC, Serra Catarinense Records First 2020 Mid-Summer Frost

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The highlands of Santa Catarina state, known as the “Serra Catarinense” reached very low temperatures during the dawn of Saturday, January 25th, when the thermometers read 1.7ºC in the city of Urupema.

In São Joaquim, in the Caminhos da Neve Valley, the fields of downhill areas became white, covered with a thin layer of ice, providing a beautiful typical winter landscape.

1.7ºC – São Joaquim/Keiser
1.7ºC – Urupema/Epagri
3.6º – Bom Jardim da Serra/Keiser
3.9ºC – Urubici/Keiser
5.8ºC – Painel/G.Hugen
8.7ºC – Rufino/Epagri River
8.9ºC – Bom Retiro/Epagri
9.3ºC – Água Doce/D.Soares
