Partnership with JetBlue

Azul has had a code share agreement with US airline JetBlue, also founded by David Neelman, since 2017. It is likely that this agreement will be expanded to offer better connection options in New York and Brazil to both companies’ customers.

The other Azul partnership in the United States, United Airlines, concentrates its flights at another airport, Newark (EWR).

Expansion of Azul

With their new destination Azul now reaches 117 cities, 11 of them in other countries. In the United States, aside from New York, the company offers flights to Orlando and Fort Lauderdale.

In addition, in 2019 it managed to enter important routes, such as the Rio-São Paulo (Santos Dumont – Congonhas) shuttle, as well as adding new flights from Brasilia, Santos Dumont Rio, Recife, and Belo Horizonte, spaces previously held by Avianca Brazil.

Azul also recently announced the purchase of the regional airline TwoFlex, with an eye on new regional destinations and landing and take-off slots that the company recently acquired in Congonhas.

Azul is expected to carry more than 30 million passengers in 2020, three million more than in 2019.
