RIO DE JANEIRO – Next Friday (May 15th), Pedro Luís e A Parede (Pedro Luís and The Wall) will take to the stage at Circo Voador, Lapa, to promote their latest last album ‘Ponto Enredo’, with a special guest appearance by Moska.

Pedro Luís e A Parede will be the last band to come on stage , promising to make everyone dance. The show forms part of the tour supporting their sixth album, ‘Ponto Enredo’, produced by Lenine, in which the guitarist Léo Saad joined Pedro Luís (voice, guitar and acoustic guitar), Mário Moura (bass), C.A Ferrari, Sidon Silva and Celso Alvim (drums and percussion).

They are also promising songs from their previous albums such as “Rap do Real”, that has the catchy chorus that anyone can follow “É um real aí, é um real aí” (It’s one real). It’s popular music, with samba, rock’n’roll, rap and percussion thrown in.

Pedro Luís, the voice and brains behind the band, is also the leader of Monobloco, one of the most popular Carnival groups in Rio. They started in 2000 and now perform all over the country as well as abroad, re-editing popular music classics with a 150-strong percussion band. In 2004, Pedro recorded the brilliant album “Vagabundo” (Vagabond) with Ney Matogrosso, showing once more what an eclectic artist he is, and all these influences will be in evidence at Friday’s concert.

The new group Doces Cariocas headed by Pierre Aderne and Alexia Bomtempo will open proceedings, presenting songs from their eponymous debut album released last year including new radio-hits such as ‘O Que Será Que Te Excita?’ and ‘Quanto Tempo’.

Alexia and Pierre used to invite friends over to their place in Ipanema to sing and jam, and as the songs took shape it didn’t take long until they decided to form an “official band”. Their concerts reflect this intimate atmosphere in which both band and songs were created, bringing a special feeling to the live show.

Following Doces Cariocas’ performance, Fino Coletivo – that’s Alvinho Lancelotti (singer), Adriano Siri (singer) Alvinho Cabral (guitar), Daniel Medeiros (bass), Marcelo Frota (guitar) and Marcus Cesar (drums) – will take to the stage. Hailing from Rio and Alagoas, the influences from the two different regions are one of the many elements that makes their music unique and well worth a listen – it is a mixture of samba and soul with many other flavors added, and is proving a hit among music critics and winning them a sizable fan base.
