RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Free attractions will take over the neighborhood of Ipanema, in the south zone of Rio de Janeiro, between January 11th and 20th.
During this period, the state government and a mobile operator feature a project inspired by the verses “Dia de luz, festa do sol” (“Days of light, celebration of the sun”), from the song ‘O Barquinho’, by Roberto Menescal and Ronaldo Bôscoli, a classic of Bossa Nova.
The various attractions will take place at the Garota de Ipanema Park and the Laura Alvim Cultural House, with a program filled with culture, art and activities focused on welfare and sustainability.
Shows by bands such as Blitz and Barão Vermelho will blend with theatre performances, electronic games, interactivity experiences, cinema, and sports.
A climbing wall, monitored by instructors, awaits Rio’s residents and tourists at the Garota de Ipanema Park.
The project is sponsored by Claro and the Rio de Janeiro State Secretariat of Culture and Creative Economy. The investment totals R$1.7 million (US$425 thousand).
