RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A 33-year-old pregnant woman died and her 35-year-old husband was seriously injured on Saturday morning, December 14th, after falling from a 10-meter high deck inside a guesthouse in São Sebastião (SP).
According to the Fire Department, they were leaning on the deck to take pictures with Juquehy beach in the background. The structure gave way and they fell on the rocks. The accident happened around 7:30 AM.
According to the Civil Police, the deck was deteriorated by the action of the sea.
The couple was rescued and rushed to the emergency room of the Center, but the 5-month pregnant woman and the baby were unable to withstand the injuries. The man is still hospitalized.
The victims are from São Bernardo do Campos (SP) and spent the weekend on the north coast. The case has been recorded and the Civil Police must investigate the causes of the accident.
