Eduardo Bolsonaro Removed From Post as PSL Party President in São Paulo

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – “I am not worried about positions. I saw a guy get elected president without ever having been a leader or committee president. I have an example at home. But it seems that the people out there, who were until recently ‘the Bolsonaro of the Northeast’ have unlearned everything in 11 months,” Eduardo mocked on Twitter earlier yesterday evening.

In addition to the federal deputy, President Jair Bolsonaro’s son, others have been removed from their functions in the PSL. The document accessed in the TSE system reports that this was a decision of the party.

This is the case of Gil Diniz, who ceased to be the vice-president of the party, and Luiz Philippe de Orleans e Bragança, known as the “deputy prince”, who was removed from the position of first secretary.

The removal of these deputies from their internal functions is due to the punishments imposed by the PSL on some, who were accused of trying to remove the party’s president, Luciano Bivar, from the party’s command.

Federal deputy Eduardo Bolsonaro will be banned from party activities for 12 months. Luiz Philippe de Orleans and Bragança’s suspension is shorter and will last only three months.

Renato Bolsonaro, another on the state directory’s list, is one of the president’s five brothers. He has run for mayor of Miracatu, in the countryside of São Paulo on two occasions, but has not succeeded in any of them.
