Humorist Gustavo Mendes Expels Bolsonaro Supporters From Show in Minas Gerais

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Comedian Gustavo Mendes, famous for playing former president Dilma Rousseff on his YouTube channel, was not intimidated by screams and provocations and expelled a group of scholarship holders who attacked him during a concert in Teofilo Otoni (MG).

The trio, who shouted to Mendes to “do a show in Africa,” had their money returned to them.

While making jokes about the tense relationship of Emmanuel Macron and the European Union with the Brazilian government, the comedian was the target of cursing by the trio. He said, “I don’t understand, what happened?”

The unhappy trio said they “paid to listen to jokes” and not politics and tried to censor the politicized humor of Gustavo Mendes, which is a mark of the comedian.

He even tried to continue the show, but the demonstrations did not stop. “Uh, you can leave. What is it? It’s you. You can get up, you can leave. If you leave, I’ll give you back your money,” he said.

“I have no problem with exposing political opinion when they expose political opinion against me, understand? Only that I…”, said Mendes when he was interrupted one more time. “Raise that little middle there, raise it, the three of you. I’ll give you your money back, I want you out: goodbye,” he concluded.
