Uruguayan Man Found Dead Inside Car in Salvador

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – A Uruguayan who lived in Salvador was found dead inside a car, on Friday morning, August 16th, in the neighborhood of Barra, Salvador. There is still no information on whether Sebastian Martinez Oggero was a victim of violent crime or if he died of natural causes.

According to information collected at the scene, the last time the Uruguayan had made contact with his girlfriend had been at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, August 14th. They had been together for six months.

In the message, he said he was in the neighborhood of Stella Maris, changing a car tire, after showing a property in the neighborhood.

Sebastian’s girlfriend identified his car on Friday when she saw the vehicle on her way to the gym. The back window was broken in order to confirm whether there was a body inside the car. The Uruguayan was found in the passenger seat.

Police officers from the Department of Homicide and Personal Protection (DHPP) were at the scene and estimated that the body had been in the car for over 24 hours.

Through a note, the State Police (PM) said it had been prompted by information concerning the location of a man’s body inside a car, around 6:20 AM on Friday. The officers cordoned off the area and called on the Crime Investigation Service (SILC) to proceed with forensics and removal of the body. According to the PM, the circumstances surrounding the death will be investigated by the Civil Police.
