Brazil Must Technically Qualify 10.5 Million Industrial Workers by 2023

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – According to a survey released on Monday, August 12th, by the National Confederation of Industry (CNI), Brazil will be required to qualify 10.5 million industrial workers by 2023. According to the study, there will be a requirement for additional professional qualification of workers in higher-level industrial occupations, technical, professional skill, and upgrading.

The CNI points out that, in terms of new jobs, the highest growth rates should arise from technology-based occupations.

The most significant qualification requirement should be for the upgrading of workers already employed — only 22 percent will be for training those who are still to enter the labor market.

The survey shows that the areas that will most require professional training are cross-cutting (1.7 million), metalworking (1.6 million), construction (1.3 million), logistics and transport (1.2 million), food (754,000), information technology (528,000), electronics (405,000), energy and telecommunications (359,000).

Growth

The CNI points out that, in terms of new jobs, the highest growth rates should arise from technology-based occupations. In addition to robotic systems drivers, there are engineering and technology researchers (17.9 percent increase); control and automation engineers, mechatronics and related engineers (14.2 percent); computer service directors (13.8 percent); and computerized numerical control milling machine operators (13.6 percent).
