Lava Jato Task Force in Paraná is Extended for Another Year

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Federal Prosecutor General (PGR) Raquel Dodge announced yesterday, August 12th, that she had extended the work of Operation Lava Jato task force prosecutors in Paraná for another year.

According to the PGR, the ordinance formalizing the measure will be published on Tuesday, August 13th, and will retain the group’s structure, comprising fifteen prosecutors, Deltan Dallagnol, among them.

According to the Office of District Attorney, this is the fifth extension of the proceedings since 2014, when the investigations began. The team will also remain on a budget of approximately R$800,000 for daily expenses and tickets for prosecutors and civil servants involved in the investigation work.

After five years and 61 stages, Lava Jato’s investigations in Paraná resulted in 50 lawsuits, with 244 convictions of 159 people, involving charges of money laundering, active and passive corruption, bidding fraud, and criminal organization, among other crimes.
