Brazilian MC Brings Excitement To Italian Festival With Audience of 10,000

By Iolanda Fonseca

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – MC Bin Laden expands his territories, even if his presence in Brazil has diminished. The singer thrilled 10,000 people at a festival in Rome, Italy, with his hit “Bololo haha.”

The show was held at the Rock in Rome festival, which features artists such as Kraftwerk, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Ben Harper, and Bad Bunny on other days.

Since “Tá tranquilo, tá favorável,” one of the biggest successes in Brazil in 2015, the MC from São Paulo has not achieved another national success of this magnitude.

However, he used his international presence, starting with contacts with American producers Diplo and Skrillex, to pursue other collaborations and tours abroad.

His best result was in Spain: “Pa’ Llamar Tu Atención,” released in May 2019 with C. Tangana and Alizzz, which reached 6th place in the Spanish charts on Spotify. In Italy, he released the song “São Paulo” with Rkomi and Night Skinny, in late 2018, reaching the 59th position in the Italian Spotify daily ranking.

In France, a track with rapper Sadek, “Des doigts”, from September 2018, was not as successful as the previous ones but reached the 155th position in the daily streaming ranking in the country.

He has just released “Bum Bum” in the Dominican Republic, in a partnership with Yomel el Meloso and Big Chriss and Draco Deville, which has exceeded 1 million views on YouTube in 4 days.

Moreover, his old hits like “Tá tranquilo, tá favorável” and “Bololo haha” kept playing in other countries as a result of the spread of Brazilian funk via streaming abroad.

According to William Japa, MC Bin Laden’s tour manager, his trip to the concert in Rome was his third trip to Europe since last year. He is planning to return by the end of the year and is setting up an itinerary in Spain, Portugal, France, Luxembourg, and Switzerland.

MC Bin Laden is also working on a partnership with the German DJ duo Drunken Masters and the Brazilians Tropkillaz, to be released soon, says William.
