Olympic Champion Wins Three Gold Medals in Brazilian Gymnastics Championship

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Perfect in his presentations, Olympic champion Arthur Zanetti won three gold medals pn the three apparatuses disputed in the Brazilian Championship of Specialists, which ended last Sunday, June 9th, at Arena Carioca 3, in Rio de Janeiro, and closed the competition with all-around results.

In addition to winning on rings, in which he has two Olympic medals, Arthur was also the Brazilian champion for floor exercises and the trampoline.

After his remarkable performance in Rio, the Sesc Santa Maria gymnast will compete in the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, between July and August, and the World Championship in Stuttgart, Germany, in October, the main challenges of the season.

Olympic medalist on the floor in Rio 2016, Arthur Nory, from Pinheiros, was best on the horizontal bar. Lucas Bitencourt and Felipe Ferreira, both from Minas, were second and third, respectively.

Among the women, Isabelle Cruz from Flamengo was the champion in the trampoline. Letícia Costa from Fluminense was second, and Thayse Silva from Grêmio Náutico União came third.

Lorrane Oliveira won the gold on the horizontal bars, Flávia Saraiva was silver and Jade Barbosa, won the bronze medal.

On the beam, Flavia Saraiva was champion, and Lorrane finished second. The bronze medal was won by Cegin’s Julia Soares, who also finished third on the floor. The gold went to young Ana Luisa Lima, who is 13 years old, and veteran Jade Barbosa won the silver medal.
