RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Fundição Progresso will host an exciting performance on Saturday, November 19th as Fresno take to the stage for their first show of the group’s new album, A Sinfonia de Tudo que Há (The Symphony of All That Is). The venue is one of the largest in Lapa, the Centro neighborhood that holds the musical heart of Rio de Janeiro.

The new album has been hailed for reflecting the band’s maturity and features participation of legendary Brazilian singer, song-writer Caetano Veloso, the founder of Tropicalia. This show on Saturday will mark the release of their seventh studio album to date.

The show will start with an opening performance from band, Baleia, a remarkable group from the independent Carioca scene that were recently nominated for the Latin Grammy award of Best Graphic Design for their album-book, Atlas.

As well as Caetano Veloso, Fresno’s album also features a guest performance by Brazilian legend Lucas Lima. The album itself is richly conceptual, translating a narrative of beginning, middle and end through eleven compelling tracks.

The repertoire covers an even larger sound spectrum than in their past albums, Infinito from 2011, and Eu Sou A Maré Viva (I am the Living Tide) from 2014. In the new album, the dense and heavy passages takes twists and turns with introspectives, sometimes with dramatic depth from full orchestrations, making use of the typical regional drums of Afro-Brazilian music.

For the show, fans can expect a special night as it will be, after all, the band’s first live performance of their new album, something the band and the fans are equally excited about. During the first set, Fresno will brings songs from their new piece such as Sexto Andar (Sixth Floor), Axis Mundi, and Hoje Sou Trovão (Today I am Thunder), the latter featuring Caetano Veloso.

The set will also include old songs like Diga PT2 (Say PT2), Revanche (Remembrance), and Redenção (Redemption), among others.

“We tried to build the new repertoire by tracing relations of these new songs with older songs that seem to be a part of the album’s history,” explains Lucas Silveira, the vocalist of Fresno.

Besides the usual tickets for the show, there will be a special edition set of tickets called the Full Experience. This gives access to the show in addition to the opportunity to accompany the passage of sound, enabling fans to get even closer to the band.

Rio de Janeiro is the first step of a long tour around Brazil to promote their new album. Band members Lucas Silveira (vocal and guitar), Vavo (guitar), Mario (keyboard) and Guerra (drums) have already confirmed the next two cities they will perform at this year will be São Paulo and Porto Alegre. In 2017, the band will travel throughout Brazil on their album tour.
