In addition to her 2013 debut album, Monomania, which was both a critical and commercial success, Falcão is well known for her previous work with the comedy group Porta dos Fundos and for the use of her songs, including “O que você faz pra ser feliz?” in commercials for retailer Pão de Açúcar.

Born in Recife to filmmaker João Falcão and screenwriter and writer Adriana Falcão and raised in Rio, Clarice began her multi-faceted career as an actress, appearing in several shows and films including “A Favorita” and the “Elmiro Miranda Show.” She also worked as screenwriter on shows including O Globo’s “Louco Por Elas.”

Falcão continued her acting career appearing on the Multishow series “O Fantástico Mundo de Gregorio”(The Amazing World of Gregório) with her former husband, comedian Gregório Duvivier.

In 2012 together with Duvivier and actors/comedians Fábio Porchat, Letícia Lima, Júlia Rabello, Rafael Infante, Marcos Veras and others, she began making weekly satirical videos for the Youtube channel, “Porta dos Fundos”.

The channel was an instant success and quickly became the first Brazilian Youtube comedy channel to obtain over ten million subscribers. The series would later go on to become a Fox Network Brazil television series, first premiering in October of 2014.

Falcão announced her departure from Porta dos Fundos in late 2015, writing “Next year I will release a CD and will hold a tour. However, it is with great nostalgia that I am saying goodbye to Porta dos Fundos.” Falcão later added; “Three years with the best people I’ve ever met.”

In 2015, Falcão released a cover of Destiny’s Child’s single “Survivor,” with proceeds going to the female empowerment NGO (non-profit organization) Think Olga, press image.

Included in Falcão’s original Porta dos Fundos Youtube skits were songs that she had written. It was their popularity that led her to further her musical career. She first released her self-titled EP in 2012 and then in April of 2013 she released Monomania digitally with no physical copies for sale. The album would go on to earn Falcão a nomination for Best New Artist for the 2013 Latin Grammy Awards.

While Monomania featured songs with folk, at times almost acoustic, arraignments, Problema Meu, spans multiple genres and offers fuller sounds with more polished production helping to enhance Falcão’s always perceptive wordplay.

During the show on Friday, Falcão will be accompanied by Gabriel Bubu on bass; Pedrinho Garcia on drums; João Erbetta on guitar; and Danilo Andrade on keyboards.

Circo Voador gates will open at 10PM. The group Exército de Bebês will perform live with Matheus Torreão to open the night.
