Rock in Rio 2015 Line-Up Continues to Take Shape

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – With the recent announcement of the additions of Paralamas do Sucesso and Lulu Santos to the 2015 Rock in Rio line-up, the upcoming seven-day music festival continues to take shape. The festival will again be held in Barra da Tijuca’s Cidade do Rock, taking place this year on September 18th, 19th, 20th, 24th, 25th, 26th, and 27th.

As in previous editions, the festival will feature three main stages: the Palco Mundo (World Stage), the Palco Sunset (Sunset Stage), and Eletrônica (the Electronic Stage). Additionally, the Rock Street and Street Dance areas will return.

Acts confirmed for the Palco Mundo include Queen with Adam Lambert, One Republic, and the The Script on the 18th; Metallica, Motley Crue, Royal Blood and Gojira on the 19th; Rod Stewart and Paralamas do Sucesso on the 20th; System of a Down, Queens of the Stone Age, Hollywood Vampires, and CPM 22 on the 24th; Slipknot, Faith No More, Mastodon, and De La Tierra on the 25th; Rihanna, Sam Smith and Lulu Santos on the 26th and Katy Perry, Aha, and Cidade Negra on the 27th.

Acts confirmed for the Palco Sunset include Lenine, Nação Zumbi, Martin Fonse, Ira!, Rappin Hood, Tony Tornando, Dônica, and Arthur Verocai on the the 18th; Korn, Ministry, Burton C. Bell, Angra, Dee Snider, Doro Pesch, Noturnall, and Michael Kiske on the 19th.

John Legend, Magic!, Baby do Brasil, Alice Caymmi, and Eumir Deodato will come to Rio on the 20th with Deftones, Lamb of God, Halestorm, Project 46, and John Wayne being confirmed for the 24th and Steve Vai, Camerata Florianópolis, Nigthwish, Jukka Nevalainen, Moonspell, Derrick Green, and Calássicos do Terror for the 25th.

On the 26th, Sérgio Mendes, Carlinhos Brown, Angelique Kidjo, Erasmo Carlos, Ultraje a Rigor, and Brothers of Brazil will play, with Al Jarreau, Aurea, Boss AC, Suricato, and Raul Midón taking the stage on the 27th.

The festival was first held in 1985 in Rio de Janeiro and will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. During the last three decades, the festival has grown into an international event with editions held in Lisbon, Portugal, Madrid, Spain, and for the first time this year in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
