Rio Music Conference Takes Over Rio Through Feb. 17th

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The seventh edition of the Rio Music Conference (RMC) began on Wednesday, February 4th and will continue through to February 17th. Considered Latin America’s biggest electronic dance music event, the RMC features three days of workshops, panels, and networking events, Club Week shows, and five days nights of performances by some of the biggest names in EDM including Tiësto, Showtek, Afrojack, Alesso, and Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike.

The RMC events are separated into three main sections. The first is the Atividades Acadêmicas e de Negócios (Academic Activities and Business). Hosted in the Copacabana hotel, Pestana Rio Atlântica, this section’s events started on the 4th and will continue on the 5th and 6th. Activities include conferences, meetings and networking opportunities for those in the Electronic music industry.

The Club Week section also began on the 4th and lasts more than a week, running through the 17th. This section features the best DJs from Rio, Brazil and International guests playing at venues throughout the city.

Clubs scheduled to host events include CAVE in Arpoador, which will host a special live DJ set by Peter Hook of the band New Order on Thursday, February 5th and the Copacabana venue, Fosfobox, which will welcome DJ Gui Boratto during a special edition of the Bootleg party on Friday, February 6th.

The 00 (Zero Zero) club in Gávea will also host numerous RMC Club Week events, including a special edition of the Noon and Warung parties.

Sacadura 154 will also host a special addition of the popular Wobble party on the 14th with the special guests MC Bin Laden, N-Type, Flying Buff, Marginal Men x Omulu, Rodrigo S., Pedro Piu, Fabio Heinz + Nectar Gang. The venue will also host D-Edge on the 15th.
