RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The dynamic Belgium DJing and MCing duo of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, make a stop in Rio today, June 22nd, to play at the city’s Marina da Glória as part of their ongoing tour of South America. The Rio Music Conference sponsored show will begin at 6PM, following the Belgium versus Russia World Cup match held at Rio’s famous Maracanã stadium.
The duo was last in Rio earlier this year as part of the 2014 Rio Music Conference, a major electronic dance music (EDM) industry event held in the city.
Brothers, born Dimitri Thivaios and Michael Thivaios, the two began their careers at the early ages of 14 and 15 in the late 1990s in their home country of Belgium.
During the years that followed, under their stages of Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, they have become internationally well known for their lively sets, which mix DJing and MCing, as well as for their production of remixes, collaborations, and original tracks.
They two have toured the world, appearing at several major international festivals and parties. Resident DJs at clubs in Ibiza, the famous destination for party-goers and repeat performers at the well known Belgium electronic music festival, Tomorrowland, the duo is considered by many to be a rising force in international dance music. The club and dance music magazine, Mixmag, named the brothers, stars of 2013.
In addition to the RMC, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike have performed multiple times in Brazil and in Rio, including a show at the Forte de Copacabana. Tonight’s performance at Marina da Glória is one not to be missed by EDM fans in the city.
