RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Latin Grammy Award-winning Brazilian MPB (Brazilian Popular Music) singer-songwriter Vanessa da Mata will perform music legend’s Tom Jobim’s classics during a free concert on the sands of Ipanema beach at 5PM on Sunday, June 9th.
Known for her Brazilian number one hits that include “Ai, Ai, Ai,” “Boa Sorte/Good Luck (featuring American singer Ben Harper),” “Amado” and “Não me Deixa Só,” da Mata has released four albums with the third album, Sim, earning a Latin Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Brazilian Pop Album in 2008.
Her show on Sunday will be the last of a six-part concert tour series entitled, Viva Tom Jobim. Sponsored by NIVEA, the free shows features da Mata performing the works of legendary Brazilian singer-songwriter-composer, Antônio Carlos Jobim (Tom Jobim).
