Elon Musk criticizes false information from Brazilian journalist: “It’s ridiculous”

Businessman Elon Musk, the owner of Twitter, criticized this Tuesday (2) misinformation released by journalist Daniela Lima, from CNN Brazil, in a live broadcast.

On Monday (1), the journalist said she could not post a tweet and made the false inference that Twitter’s algorithm was filtering content related to the Fake News bill, which is under discussion in the House this week.

“The algorithm is mapping the mentions of the bill number that Big Techs so badly don’t want to see,” said the journalist, showing her cell phone to the viewers without clarifying where she had gotten the information about the algorithm.

The American journalist Gleen Greenwald tweeted about it, criticizing her Brazilian colleague’s mistake.

Musk responded to Greenwald’s tweet: “This is ridiculous. Twitter briefly went through ‘growing pains’, which affected users worldwide.”

“Lots of people are logging in simultaneously. We allocated more server capacity to authentication servers, and the problem was solved.

When commenting on Musk’s statement, Daniela disclosed another piece of misinformation:

The entrepreneur had said that “many people couldn’t log in” and that this argument would not explain her technical problem since she was already logged in.”

“Musk, however, only said that there were too many people “logging in simultaneously” and that this brought technical problems to Twitter.
