Brazil: agribusiness giant Cargill announces new plant and multi-million dollar investment in Mato Grosso

Agribusiness giant Cargill will build a factory in Primavera do Leste in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso.

The venture will cost R$100 million US$20.23 million), the news agency Reuters reported on Friday 19.

The company’s focus is feeding beef cattle, with the production of animal supplements.

The new plant will have an initial capacity of 120,000 tonnes a year (Photo internet reproduction)

The construction of the unit will start this month and should end in December 2024.

Mato Grosso is the leader in producing grain biofuel and owns the largest national cattle herd.

CARGILL BUYS ANOTHER PLANT

According to Reuters, Cargill also intends to buy an industrial unit of Anhambi Produção Animal, located in Pato Branco in the state of Paraná (PR) and has just submitted the deal to the Economic Defense Administrative Council (Conselho Administrativo de Defesa Econômica).

The unit is capable of producing 60,000 tonnes of pelletized feed per year.
