Marquez had issues with a new teacher law. This law lets 14,000 dismissed teachers return to work.

Marquez saw it as undermining merit and had plans for a review.

Context

This reshuffle is one of many in Peru’s recent history. The country has seen frequent cabinet changes due to political tension.

President Boluarte herself assumed office after an impeachment. Her predecessor, Pedro Castillo, faced corruption charges.

Boluarte aims for stability through these new appointments.

Peru has multiple challenges ahead. It’s dealing with economic issues, high crime rates, and the ongoing pandemic.

Many see these cabinet changes as a way to handle these problems better. Education and Justice are key areas that require focused leadership.

It’s not uncommon for Peru to have such switches. In the past decade, almost every president has changed cabinet members multiple times.

These changes reflect the volatile political landscape. Observers are keen to see if this new team will bring lasting positive impacts.
