In a recent cabinet reshuffle, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro appointed new ministers for National Commerce, Industries and National Production, and Urban Agriculture in a bid to address various challenges facing the nation.

Dheliz Álvarez, who was at the helm of the Venezuelan Corporation for Foreign Trade (Corpovex), will now serve as the Minister of National Commerce, succeeding Antonio Morales.

Meanwhile, José Félix Rivas Alvarado will assume the Minister of Industries and National Production role, taking over from Hipólito Abreu.

Julián Carrillo has been appointed Minister of Urban Agriculture, replacing Greicys Barrios, who had been in the position since 2020.

These changes were made official in the Official Gazette of Venezuela, a Caribbean country facing economic and political challenges.

The reshuffle comes at a critical time for Venezuela, as the country grapples with economic difficulties, political unrest, and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

The government hopes that these new appointments will bring fresh perspectives and approaches to tackle the myriad of issues currently facing the country.

It is yet to be seen how these changes will impact the government’s policies and the overall situation in Venezuela.

Amid hyperinflation, food and medicine shortages, and a mass exodus of citizens, the Maduro administration faces a tough road ahead in stabilizing the nation and restoring public confidence.

The international community will be watching closely to see how these new ministers approach the challenges ahead.
