Forza Motorsport: A Slimmer, Focused Experience

In recent years, fans have enjoyed new racing games as major franchises launched titles for the latest consoles.

Now, Forza Motorsport enters the race. It aims for a more serious simulation for players.

The visuals in Forza are stunning. Ranking the “best-looking car games” has become challenging.

Still, all compete closely in quality. In Performance Mode, the game delivers smooth, high-speed racing at 60 frames per second.

Comparing it to Gran Turismo is natural. Both franchises now share similarities. Unlike Gran Turismo Sport, Forza offers a complete single-player campaign.

It also includes regulated multiplayer modes and a keen focus on authentic racing.

At first glance, the game might look smaller. It offers fewer cars and tracks than its predecessor.

Yet, this helps the developers. They have more room to fine-tune the details. The game features at least 20 circuits.

These come with different layouts and weather conditions.

Among these tracks, five are brand-new. Notable inclusions are Hakone and Eaglerock Speedway.

The game slightly limits the number of cars. Yet, it focuses on the GT Series.

Standout models include the 2023 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R and the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray.

Career progression has changed. The game no longer bases it on the size of your car collection.

Instead, each car and driver has its experience level. As you level up, you unlock customization options.

However, you’ll need Car Points to equip these.

Before each race, a training stage is mandatory. It can feel tedious but adds realism. Pit stops play a crucial role in your strategy.

You must plan them before the race starts. Fuel levels and other variables need consideration.

Online play is strictly regulated. Forza Race Regulation ensures fair competition. Cutting corners or foul play is not tolerated.

The competitive aspect promises to keep players engaged for a long time.

In summary, Forza Motorsport delivers a complete, yet streamlined, experience.

While lighter on initial content, it offers significant strides in both simulation and competition.

It will be available on PC and Xbox Series X|S starting October 10. This game is also part of the Game Pass lineup. This review is based on the Xbox Series X version.
