Brazilian Nubank introduces a feature to increase credit card limit

Nubank launched on Monday (24) the “Nu Limite Garantido” (Nu Guaranteed Limit) feature, which allows users of the digital bank to increase the credit limit of their card with the invested money as collateral.

With this function, increasing the credit with the invested money is possible – provided that the minimum balance is R$1 – without requiring analysis to release a new limit.

Thus, if R$1,000 are invested in RDB mode (an option that earns 100% of the CDI), the same value will be converted into credit that you can use as you wish on the card (US$1 is equal to R$5.03).

The review of a request for a higher amount takes a few days.

If the consumer uses this “extra limit” to buy a product or pay for a service, the amount invested remains blocked until the total amount is paid.

“Nu Limite Garantido” is still being rolled out gradually and may not be available to the entire community at this early stage.

As the largest fintech bank in Latin America explains, when customers click on “Nu Limite Garantido,” they will be redirected to the Cashier Creation Flow, where they must create a specific cashier for this purpose.

Nubank emphasizes that only the amount invested is converted into a credit limit without being added to net income.
