RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The death toll from the heavy rainfall that affected Santos has risen to 27. The firemen are working on the search for 28 missing persons in Santos, São Vicente, and Guarujá.
The balance was released early on Thursday morning, March 5th, by the Civil Defense.
The city most affected was Guarujá, which accounts for the highest number of deaths – 17. Another 21 people are missing.
In Santos, there are three dead and five missing. São Vicente has recorded one death and two people are missing.
In all, nearly 200 people are homeless: 155 in Guarujá, six in São Vicente and 37 in Santos.
