Demonstrators Demand “Free Lula” in São Paulo Protest

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Lula was convicted of passive corruption and money laundering crimes and has been in prison in Curitiba since April 7th, 2018.

The demonstration was called by the Lula Livre (Free Lula) National Committee and aims to denounce flaws in the proceedings that led to the former president’s arrest, after an appellate court affirmation of the conviction in the case involving the Guarujá triplex apartment.
