More than 2 million tourists visited Chile in 2022

More than 2 million tourists visited Chile in 2022 and left revenues for the sector of more than 9 billion dollars, the Undersecretariat of Tourism reported Tuesday.

Last year, the institution specified in a statement Chile registered 2,036,103 arrivals of foreign tourists, 971 percent more than in 2021 after the Government relaxed or eliminated the sanitary restrictions imposed by the new coronavirus pandemic.

The Undersecretary of Tourism, Verónica Kunze, explained in the text that "during 2022 tourism faced enormous challenges".
