Latam has been named the top airline in South America in the 2023 Skytrax World Airline Awards, frequently dubbed the “Aviation Oscars.”
Securing this recognition for the fourth year in a row, the award was presented at the Paris Air Show.
Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras clinched second place, followed by JetSmart, an American low-cost carrier operating in the region.
In addition to the main award, Latam also claimed the accolade for the best service staff on the continent offered.
Paulo Miranda, Latam’s Vice President of Customers, attributed these achievements to the relentless efforts of their team, expressing gratitude to their customers.
Azul also received recognition as the “best regional airline in South America” and the carrier with the best cabin service in the region.
Singapore Airlines outperformed its competitors in the global category, bagging the top spot, followed by Qatar Airways and ANA (All Nippon Airways).
The Singaporean airline also scooped multiple other awards, including best first class and best business class.
The 2023 Skytrax rankings are based on a survey conducted between September 2022 and May 2023, involving over 20 million passengers of more than 100 nationalities.
