First Hilton Hotel in Rio Opens its Doors in Barra da Tijuca

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The second hotel of the Hilton and Resorts chain in Brazil and the first in Rio de Janeiro, has opened its doors yesterday, April 9th on Avenida Abelardo Bueno in Rio’s Barra da Tijuca. In a strategic location, the hotel in the heart of the Olympic Zone is also set to provide rooms for visitors of the 2016 Olympic Games.

Developed by Carvalho Hosken S/A, the nine-floors building features the latest architecture with a lobby of monumental scale, as its 37 meters high and a light-flowing concept through its hollow inside shape.

The 298 hotel rooms are all high-end and outfitted with comfortable and luxurious bedding, smart LED TVs, wireless Internet access, Nespresso coffee machines with complimentary capsules and exclusive Malin+Goetz amenities found in no other hotel in the area.

The event area is around 1,300 square meters with ten rooms and two ball rooms with space for up to 950 guests. The upscale hotel also features a restaurant for 140 people and a rooftop swimming pool with adjacent Champagne bar.

Special introductory rates for the opening of the hotel start at US$159 (not including taxes and service fees) with 1,000 HHonors Points per night for Hilton HHonors members.

The hotel in Avenida Embaixador Abelardo Bueno in Barra da Tijuca is in a strategic location for the 2016 Olympic Games, just meters away from the Olympic Park and the Athletes’ Village, while also being close to HSBC Arena, Cidade do Rock, Citibank Hall and convention center RioCentro.
