Brazil has three airports among the most punctual in the world

Pinto Martins International Airport, in Fortaleza, Ceará, is among the ten most punctual in the world. The conclusion is from the 2023 Punctuality League report, revealed on Wednesday (11).

The study, a kind of Oscar for punctuality, is published annually with data collected in the last twelve months by the OAG consultancy, the most respected organization for data analysis of flights, airlines and airports in the market.

According to the survey, the most punctual airport in the world is Osaka, Japan, which had 91.45% of its flights departing or landing within the scheduled time — and only 1.04% of cancellations in trips already scheduled during the year 2022.

To be considered punctual, a flight must take off or land within a maximum of 15 minutes of the scheduled time, which is the margin of tolerance established by the consultancy to assess disruptions on the runways.

In this regard, the Japanese are isolated leaders in civil aviation — they occupy ten positions in the first 20 places in the ranking.
