Brazillian Wins Bronze Medal in Pan Am Games Mountain Bike

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazilian Jaqueline Mourão, 43, won the bronze medal in the mountain bike finals at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, yesterday, July 28th.

This was Brazil’s first medal Sunday. The gold went to Mexico’s Daniela Campuzano and silver to the Argentinian athlete Sofia Gomez.

The bronze medal is yet another in the cyclist’s lengthy career, who includes six participations in the Olympics and winter games.

Speed canoeing

This morning, in the men’s final of speed canoeing, K4 500m category, Brazil came in sixth place with the team comprising Patrick Faustino, Edson Silva, Vagner Souta, and Pedro Costa.

Table of Medals

To date, Mexico is leading the competition with 18 medals (seven gold, three silver, and eight bronze). The United States comes second with 14 medals (five gold, five silver, and four bronze). Peru has three gold, two silver, and three bronze medals and comes in third place. Brazil is in fifth place on the board with two gold, three silver, and four bronze medals.
