Presidential elections: Sergio Moro signs accession form to Union Brazil, says vice president of the party

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The vice president of the Union Brazil party in São Paulo, Junior Bozzella, said Thursday (31) that the accession of former Justice Minister Sergio Moro to the party is “underway.”

He has already signed the accession form. Rosangela Moro, the wife of the former judge, also attended the ceremony.

“The affiliation is already underway; it has already been approved by President Bivar, inclusive. Since yesterday I have already forwarded and approved the form. Sergio signed the form,” said Bozzella.

The vice president of the party did not confirm the fate of Moro in the party and whether he will maintain his pre-candidacy for the presidency of the Republic.

“Of course, when you join a political party, you know you’re not the leader, you don’t have a vote, you’re not on the national board – you know what sieve you’re going to be sent through. You have no guarantee of anything; you are just another partner.”

According to Bozzella, the party is currently focusing on party affiliation, and the definition of candidacies will come at party conventions. “We are pursuing a single path to overcome the extremes and polarization,” he said.

Moro met with party leaders at a hotel in the capital, São Paulo, to announce his decision.
